Services

Why Rockhaven?

We understand that you want the best for your child and know that there are so many to choose from.  However, wouldn't you feel better knowing and choosing a provider that firmly believes in excellence and who will settle for nothing less from both its students and instructors? We choose and use the best and would not dream of cutting corners to sacrifice quality or results, thus, the highest customer satisfaction.

Our programs are especially selected to meet or exceed Texas and national education standards.  Because we offer a variety of effective and innovative programs, created by the best, we can ensure that your child receives the best possible service, specifically designed to meet the child’s needs. We also recognize, accommodate and praise  individual differences and most important, different learning types. We make sure that each student has what they need to learn, including those with special needs and/or an IEP. We hire the best learning coaches with special training in teaching underprivileged and at-risk students. With these skills, they work diligently to motivate and help them succeed. We know that every student is special!

How Are We Different?

F-L-E-X-I-BILITY!   Our programs are flexible. Our hours are too! And we can teach your child at school, home, the library or other facility, as long as the learning is not interrupted or sacrificed. And yes, we are highly affordable at the same time, competitive. We work with each individual child and their parents on a personal basis. We make ourselves available to you and keep you informed of your child’s progress weekly.

Evidence of Effectiveness

Our technology systems track and measure the progress of our students. We retain all student’s records and archives for years.  Most students who join us consistently for six months to a year score above 90% on state standard tests.   Students feel more confident even after three to four weeks in our program. Usually, students recognize their academic improvement in six to eight weeks.

With the help of highly skilled coaches, children progress successfully through levels and learn at a pace that is right and not overwhelming to them. Our individualized teaching system and private sessions significantly improve a child's understanding and comprehension, and assist them in reaching, and yet exceeding their academic goals. The key is our self-paced programs along with personal and hands-on instruction.

Programs & Partners

We not only ensure that we hire the best learning coaches, but we also proactively manage to find the best products and programs for our students. Unlike most other learning centers, we choose our partners and personally select products that meet our students' needs.  We also build partnerships with their management teams. Why? Because we believe this is the best way to serve our students effectively.

We are not stuck or tied to programs that are not effective and that do not provide measurable results.   We clearly know important details and what is involved, and believe in the products we offer. We select a program for your child based on their needs and abilities, or disability, and yes, sometimes even their interest.  We provide only products that meet and/or exceed Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS) and national education standards.

is an exceptional math program for Pre-K to 6th grade and was designed both to match and exceed the progress of the national school curriculum for math, so the skills learned can be immediately applied in your child’s classroom and will also give your child an advantage.  Math Squared is an individualized and self-motivated program especially designed to improve overall math skills, build solid conceptual foundation, develop strong problem solving ability and stimulate divergent and creative thinking.

Math Squared’s individualized and self-paced learning system will significantly improve children’s understanding of math concepts, and assist them in first reaching, and then exceeding, their math goals. Through working with a series of fun yet stimulating workbooks, children not only develop a solid math foundation, but also, abilities in problem solving and critical thinking towards other subjects.

The workbooks contain problems that cover the entire gamut  of computation, logic, problem solving, and every day real world applications involving mathematics. The use of manipulative tools and puzzles allow children to understand the concepts of spatial geometry. They solve problems by working on paper instead of computer to imbibe the concept of mathematics and use it as part of their lifelong skills. With illustrative work books which are based on their ability, instead of grade level, the program makes learning fun and effective.

was co-founded by Dr. Richard McCallum of U.C. Berkeley. Dr. McCallum holds a PhD in education and is a recognized literacy expert in early childhood development. His successful reading remediation program, Cal Reads, was a model for Let’s Go Learn’s first product, Diagnostic Online Reading Assessment (DORA). It has influenced Let’s Go Learn’s innovative adaptation of scientifically-based field research into an effective web-based tool for rapid literacy, and now math, improvement.

Powered by the OAASIS (Online Adaptive Assessment System for Individual Students) platform, Let's Go Learn's reading and math assessment solutions adapt to students as they respond to each question, getting harder or easier as needed to complete the diagnosis. Start levels vary depending on the age of the user, and elementary, middle, and high school graphical interfaces exist in order to engage students of all ages. Assessments continue until each individual's ceiling of performance is reached on each sub-skill.

Assessments

DORA Family of Products

Diagnostic Online Reading Assessment (DORA) is a K-12 measure that provides objective, individualized assessment data across eight reading measures that together profile each student’s reading abilities and prescribe individual learning paths.

The Study Island TEKS Mastery and STAAR Preparation Program is specifically designed to help students master the content specified in the TEKS. Study Island's focus on the TEKS enables students to improve their performance in all skill areas tested on the STAAR and End-of-Course tests in grades 3 through 12. Topics consist of questions, answers, explanations, and lessons that address the specific skills required in order to master the TEKS.  Click here for more details.

The state of Texas will introduce the STAAR assessment system during the 2011-2012 academic year. Like the TAKS, the STAAR will assess reading, mathematics, writing, science, and social studies. Study Island has already released 3rd-8th grade Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies STAAR products, as well as EOC products for Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English I, English II, English III, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, U.S. History, World Geography, and World History. In addition, we offer a 2nd grade pre-STAAR program, which helps students master foundational skills in Math, Reading, Writing, and Science. For more information, please click here to download our STAAR brochure.

STAAR Benchmark Test Features

The Study Island STAAR Benchmarking Program for grades 3 through 8 enables teachers to get a snapshot of student proficiencies in relation to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). At any time throughout the year, students can be assessed through one of four different benchmarking tests. These assessments will give teachers and administrators an accurate predictor of STAAR scores as well as valuable diagnostic information that can be used to guide classroom instruction.

  • Developed Specifically for STAAR
Unlike other benchmark products, each Study Island STAAR benchmark test is built specifically from the TEKS.
  • Web-based & Easy-to-Use
Study Island's benchmark is accessible from any computer and is integrated into the Study Island STAAR preparation program.
  • Comprehensive Reporting
Reports compile student data and display test results organized by STAAR Reporting Categories.

HOW IT WORKS
  • Upon subscribing to Study Island, your school will receive a welcome manual with instructions for accessing and using the program. Additionally, an in-person teacher training session option is also available.
  • In order to complete the program, students must take the pre-test, complete the content groups, and master the post-test.

 WHY IT WORKS
  • Web-based Means 24/7
Study Island is completely Web-based. Students can access Study Island and learn at their own pace. There is no software to download or install; all you need is an Internet connection.

  • Dynamic Content Keeps Students Engaged
Not only are there several thousand questions in the Study Island program, but each question constantly changes. The answers to the multiple-choice questions rotate positions, and the numbers in the math questions are chosen randomly, resulting in a deeper understanding of the concepts, as opposed to memorization of the answers. Teachers can customize printable worksheets when a paper/pencil option is more appropriate for the learner.

  • Confidence Equals Mastery

Study Island helps students stay on track which helps students gain confidence when taking and passing State of Texas
             Assessment of  Academic Readiness (STAAR).
